Somatic Release Breathwork in Pittsburgh: Coming Home to Your Body's Wisdom
If you've been searching for a somatic practitioner in Pittsburgh, or merely looking for a body-based approach that actually meets you where you are, I want to share something I've been sitting with a lot lately.
Much of my work helps people reconnect with themselves. Somatic Release Breathwork is a direct way to do this. Many try to think their way out of persistent mental and physical patterns. The worry that cycles, the low energy, the sense of being stuck: all of these linger until addressed physically. The body holds what the mind overrides. Instead of more analysis and strategies, SRB offers space to slow down, listen, and reconnect.
What is Somatic Release Breathwork?
SRB is a body-based, conscious-breathing practice that gently engages the nervous system to help you notice, feel, and release what your body has been holding. By intentionally shifting your breath, you invite your system out of chronic fight, flight, or freeze, and into a more grounded, more spacious sense of safety and inner calm. Instead of talking through every story, SRB invites you to track physical sensations (tightness in the chest, a lump in the throat, tingling in the limbs) as meaningful signals from your inner world. As the breath deepens and the body feels safer, those sensations often begin to move, soften, or discharge on their own, creating room for more ease, more clarity, and a quieter feeling of peace.
Who is this work for?
This is for you if…
You feel caught in repeating emotional loops (worry, racing thoughts, self-doubt) even when you logically "know better."
You sense your body is carrying more than you can put into words: bracing, numbness, or a buzz that never fully switches off.
You've tried talking about it, thinking through it, or pushing past it…and something deeper is still calling to be met.
You're ready for a space where your experience is not rushed or judged, but held with gentleness, curiosity, and care.
Sessions are non-medical and non-diagnostic, and are offered as a complementary, holistic support for emotional well-being, nervous system regulation, and personal growth.
What a session looks like
Each session is shaped around you and what your system is ready for that day. We begin with a clear intention: perhaps to feel more grounded, to explore a specific pattern, or simply to meet whatever arises with as much compassion as possible. From there, you'll be guided through conscious breathing at a pace designed to support your capacity, not override it. Possible outcomes after a session may include experiencing a release of tension, noticing improved emotional regulation, feeling lighter or more at ease, or gaining clarity on persistent patterns. You might notice waves of sensation, emotion, or a quiet shift: more warmth, a deeper exhale, or a gentle sense of relief as your body realizes it no longer has to hold everything quite so tightly. Throughout, you are always invited to slow down, pause, or honor your own boundaries. Your system learns, at its own pace, that it is safe to listen to itself.
How SRB fits into the work I offer
Somatic Release Breathwork is one of several mind-body modalities I weave into sessions alongside transpersonal hypnosis, Brainspotting, and somatic reparenting. What they all share is this: a deep trust in your inner wisdom, a respect for your lived experience, and an encouragement for your whole self (mind, body, and spirit) to participate in the process. Over time, many people begin to notice they have a little more room inside. More capacity to be present with their own hearts. More choice in how they respond. A quieter, more genuine sense of coming home to themselves. That's what I'm here to hold space for.
